Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator to join our team and support enterprise-grade database environments. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in SQL Server along with exposure to other platforms, and a proactive mindset towards automation, cloud adoption, and AI-driven database optimization.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues in a timely and accurate manner
- Ensure high availability and disaster recovery mechanisms are properly implemented and continuously improved
- Manage database deployments in line with enterprise standards and business requirements
- Monitor and optimize performance, capacity, and storage utilization
- Perform database maintenance tasks, including backups, recovery, and scheduled jobs
- Ensure compliance with SLA commitments and operational procedures
- Diagnose and resolve both database-level and application-level performance issues
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business-critical systems
- Provide regular reporting on database performance and stability, proactively identifying risks and improvement areas
- Develop, test, and implement enhancements, including automation opportunities
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies, including AI-enabled database capabilities and automation tools
Required Experience
- 6–8+ years of experience in Database Administration
- Strong hands-on expertise in SQL Server (primary focus), with exposure to at least one additional platform (Oracle, PostgreSQL preferred)
- Experience managing OLTP and OLAP environments
- Solid understanding of database security, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
- Proven experience with backup, recovery, and monitoring processes
- Experience in writing and optimizing T-SQL queries
- Familiarity with on-prem to cloud migrations is a plus
- Exposure to automation, scripting, or AI-assisted operations is considered an advantage
Technical Skills
- Strong database administration fundamentals across multiple platforms (MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc.)
- Cloud certifications (Azure or AWS) – mandatory
- Experience managing databases in cloud environments
- Knowledge of data security, backup, and recovery tools
- Exposure to AI/ML concepts, data pipelines, or intelligent database features (e.g., auto-tuning, anomaly detection)
- Experience working with Windows Server and Active Directory
- Familiarity with building or supporting cloud-based database infrastructure (end-to-end) is a plus
