About Role
We are seeking an experienced SAP ABAP Developer with a strong focus on accessibility (barrier-free development) to join an international team of testers and developers.
This role is part of a long-term project focused on ensuring accessibility compliance across SAP HCM environments. The ideal candidate is a hands-on ABAP expert with strong knowledge of modern SAP technologies and a solid understanding of accessibility standards.

Workload: 1 FTE (~1,850 hours)
Location: Primarily remote, with occasional travel (up to once per month) to Fürth / Gelsenkirchen, Germany
Language Requirement: German (C1 level required)
Eligibility: EU-based candidates only
Key Responsibilities
Develop and enhance SAP applications using ABAP and ABAP Objects (ABAP OO)
Support accessibility (barrier-free) development and testing initiatives within SAP environments
Work closely with accessibility testers to ensure compliance with accessibility standards
Develop and maintain SAP HCM-related functionalities
Design and implement solutions using Web Dynpro ABAP and Floorplan Manager (FPM)
Build and integrate SAP UI5 applications and OData services
Support and optimize SAP Workflow processes
Collaborate within an international team environment, ensuring alignment with German-speaking stakeholders
Contribute to unit testing and quality assurance processes
Profile
Strong hands-on experience with ABAP and ABAP Objects (ABAP OO)
Proven experience with SAP HCM (Human Capital Management)
Advanced knowledge of Web Dynpro ABAP and Floorplan Manager (FPM)
Experience with SAP Workflow, SAP UI5, and OData services
Familiarity with SAP Portal and ESS/MSS functionalities
Good understanding of accessibility (barrier-free development standards)
Experience with unit testing practices
Basic knowledge of Adobe Interactive Forms, OSA Forms, and Processes & Forms
Fluent German (minimum C1 level)
EU-based candidate
Experience working in international and cross-functional teams is a plus
