About the Role

We are looking for a System Engineer with expertise in Linux administration, DNS management, virtualization, and data center operations.
You will be responsible for keeping systems secure, highly available, and automated, while collaborating with IT teams and vendors to deliver reliable infrastructure services.

Key Responsibilities

Linux Systems Administration & Automation

• Provide expert-level support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems.

• Design and maintain automated solutions for VM deployment and provisioning.

• Perform patching and upgrades of Linux virtual machines with minimal downtime.

• Create, test, and maintain automation scripts (Bash, Python, Ansible).

• Monitor system performance and ensure compliance with security standards.

DNS Infrastructure Management

• Manage and secure chrooted BIND (named) environments.

• Administer internal and external DNS services, ensuring reliability.

• Implement DNSSEC, manage zone transfers, and resolve DNS issues.

• Document and standardize DNS operational procedures.

Data Center Operations & Virtualization

• Administer VMware vSphere 8 farm (6 hosts) using vCenter and Aria Operations.

• Manage DELL PowerStore 3200T iSCSI shared storage (provisioning, snapshots, replication).

• Maintain PowerProtect (PPDM) backup system and DataDomain devices.

• Configure and monitor iSCSI networks dedicated to VMware datastores.

• Troubleshoot hardware issues and coordinate with vendors for support and replacements.

• Enforce security protocols across the data center infrastructure.

General Operations & Collaboration

• Perform additional duties assigned by the supervisor.

• Maintain up-to-date documentation for systems, configurations, and processes.

• Work closely with cross-functional teams and external vendors.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

• Proven experience with RHEL/CentOS/Fedora administration.

• Hands-on experience with VM lifecycle management (deployment, patching, upgrades).

• Proficiency with Ansible or other configuration management tools.

• Deep understanding of Linux networking, storage, and security.

• Experience with BIND DNS (chrooted environments, DNSSEC).

• Strong VMware vSphere knowledge (ESXi, vCenter, patching, upgrades).

• Experience with iSCSI configuration, Dell EMC PowerStore storage, and backup systems.

• Strong hardware troubleshooting and vendor coordination skills.

• Familiarity with data center security best practices.

Desirable

• Certifications: Microsoft/Linux/VMware.

• Experience with containers or OpenShift.

• Knowledge of firmware updates (BIOS, RAID controllers, NICs).

• Basic French (advantageous but not mandatory).
